Vinc
Bring your knowledge in.
Drop a pack or a folder of documents. The desktop app reads them on your device, files them, and takes their structure from your headings; the assistant you connect writes the concepts and the links between them. Nothing is uploaded.
- The desktop app analyzes everything on this machine. Your local data stays there.
- Try the sample pack to explore Vinc with ready-made knowledge.

Everything is analyzed on this PC. Your data never leaves.

Supported files
- Document text:
.md,.markdown,.txt,.text,.rst,.pdf. Vinc reads them, splits them into chunks, and indexes those. The original text is kept as the source of truth. - Knowledge packs:
.vincpackor.json. Concepts and links that are already organized, sometimes with the source documents included.
The steps
- Press Import in the top bar, or drag files onto the window.
- Vinc reads them, pulls out concepts, and finds links between documents. This takes seconds to minutes depending on how much there is.
- When it finishes you see how many documents, topics, and links went in. Open in View takes you straight there.
When it overlaps with what you already have
Importing merges, it does not overwrite. If a concept is already there, the new material attaches to it instead of creating a second copy. That is why importing the same pack twice does not double your map. The result screen tells you how many were created and how many were matched to something that already existed.
After importing
With your map built, look at its shape in View and find specific things with Search. To send this knowledge to someone, or to receive theirs, go to Packs and community.
