Using the app
Edit GRAPH.md
Before an AI assistant writes into this graph, it reads GRAPH.md first. The file says which node kinds and relations to use, how to name topics, and what not to do. In the app you edit it under Settings > GRAPH.md.
The part you write
Press Settings at the bottom of the sidebar and choose GRAPH.md.
- Yours to write Write the rules for this graph as you like. It starts with the default rules.
- Save Saves your edits. The button shows the result briefly, then goes back.
- Rebuild Saves first, then refills the part copied from your graph with its current state.
Rebuilding leaves the part you wrote as it is. If it fails, the screen does not change, so what you just wrote is not lost either.
The part copied from your graph
Further down is a folded box. Open it to see the part copied from your graph.
- Copied part The topics in this graph, how many nodes each holds, and the approved vocabulary. It is read only, because hand edits are wiped by the next Rebuild.
- What comes after The text after the copied part. You write this too.
- Vocabulary approval The demo shows sample proposals. Approve actual vocabulary in the desktop app's local mode.
If the lines marking the start and end of the copied part are deleted and no longer pair up, a warning line appears and you edit the whole file as one.
Approving vocabulary
When an assistant writes with a node type or relation type that is not in GRAPH.md, the name is not thrown away. It is kept as a proposal, and a person decides whether to take it in.
In the desktop app's local mode, a Waiting for you · n box sits below the copied part. It opens unfolded when proposals are waiting and stays folded when none are. Each row shows the name and its kind (node type or relation type), with three buttons.
- Approve: takes it into the vocabulary. From the next Rebuild it is listed in the copied part's approved vocabulary.
- Reject: leaves it out of the vocabulary.
- Rename: edits the name in place. Enter confirms and Escape puts it back.
The number of waiting proposals shows next to Settings at the bottom of the sidebar and next to GRAPH.md inside Settings. Only what an assistant actually proposed is counted, so a fresh install shows no number.
In the web app and in the desktop app's account mode, this box is replaced by the line Approving vocabulary happens in the desktop app, and no number appears.
