Vinc
Quickstart
About five minutes from install to your first map. There are two ways in, and which one you pick depends on whether you want to install anything.
Where to start
- The desktop app runs everything on your own machine. No account, no internet. This is the one if you plan to bring in your own documents.
- The web app has nothing to install and signs you in with an account. It reads your account graph, so you see the same map anywhere. Good for looking around first.
The two are not exclusive. You can sync selected topics from the desktop app to your account and see them on the web as well.
Starting with the desktop app
- Get the build for your operating system from Download and install it.
- Open Vinc. On the first screen, Try the sample pack gives you ready-made knowledge to explore right away.
- To bring in your own material, use Import in the top bar and pick documents or a pack. The full walkthrough is in Import.
- Once your map is built, explore it in View and find things with the top-bar search, covered in Search.
Starting with the web app
- Enter your email at Sign in. There is no password: click the link we mail you.
- First time in, you are asked to pick a username. You can skip it, and you will be asked again when you publish a pack to the community.
- Open a pack you like in the community gallery and press Import to bring it into your account graph.
- Open the web app to see that map.
After that
If you want the AI assistant you already use to read this map, go to Connect an assistant. For many hosts it is a single command.
