Using the app

A node up close

Press a node and a small card appears; from there you open its links or its detail. The screens below are the real app with the Design token node open.

Opening a node

Press a node in the graph and the View moves to it while a small card appears. A node in the search results opens the same way. Pick an Agent role in the sidebar and its node opens in the wide panel instead, with no card.

The node card

  1. Handle Drag to move the card.
  2. Details and source Opens the node detail in the side panel on the right.
  3. Links How many links go out (→) and come in (←). Press to open the list.
  4. Ask an assistant Copies a prompt for asking an AI about this node. Covered in Using AI.
  5. Zoom − and + keep this node in the centre and move further away or closer.
  6. Copy link Copies an address that opens this node directly. Send it to someone on the same graph and the node opens for them.
  7. Share Shares a pack starting from this node. Covered in Sharing.
  8. Connect Links this node to another. Covered in Connecting nodes.
  9. Close Closes the card. Esc does the same.

Open Links and each linked node gets a row.

  1. Direction → is a link going out of this node, ← one coming in. Links with no direction are marked with a dot.
  2. Linked node Press it to move to that node.
  3. Relation Says how they are linked, such as related, bridge or recorded. An underlined name has recorded evidence; press it to see the evidence.

Node detail

Press Details and source and the node detail opens in the side panel on the right, with the graph still beside it.

  1. Full width Widens the panel across the whole graph area. Press again to go back to Side panel.
  2. Ask an assistant The same prompt menu as on the card.
  3. Numbers Topic, link count, direction and attached count. Attached counts the bridges, episodes and records hanging off this node. Counted from what is stored in the graph, not from the drawing.
  4. Share Shares a pack starting from this node.
  5. Connect Links it to another node.
  6. Delete Deletes the node after asking you to confirm.
  7. Source The text written on the node.

In the app, below these come Basics and Properties editing, the link list, the documents this node appears in, and nodes not yet linked that could be. Press a document to open it in the reader; see Documents.

Editing a node

In the node detail, Basics edits the title, one line, topic, tags and date. Properties takes text, list, number, yes/no or JSON values you can add or change, and changes are saved in place.

To delete a node, press Delete and confirm. Links to other nodes are covered in Connecting nodes. The demo does not save, so the edit buttons do not show.

Right-click a node in the graph for Open, Share from here and Delete. Right-click an empty spot for New node here and New document here.
